Most tailors will shorten dress shirt sleeves by simply cutting from the cuff which shortens the gauntlet and does not look good because it throws off the position of the gauntlet button which is 2-3 inches above the cuff line. Instead we move the entire placket up by removing the placket, reattaching and shortening the sleeve to ensure your shirt looks exactly the same. We avoid the the easy and ugly route of removing the cuff, cutting through the placket to make the sleeve shorter, and then reattaching the cuff.
